Tania Barrenetxea
Bilbao
Tania Barrenetxea is a visual artist based in the Basque Country whose work is characterized by a meticulous visual construction and a symbolic sensitivity that engages in dialogue with the pictorial tradition. Working within conceptual photography, she develops scenes in which body, objects, and nature form a unique poetic universe. In her images, beauty takes on dark nuances, the fragile becomes fierce, and contemplation emerges as a territory of revelation. Light, as a metaphor, reveals the beauty of that which dwells in our shadows. As an artist, she is interested in the language that operates on an unconscious level, in that liminal space where the known and the unknown converge.
