Montserrat Serra

Montserrat Serra Nonell is a visual artist whose practice focuses on painting and experimentation with different materials and supports. Through oil painting, drawing, collage, and the incorporation of fabrics onto wood, canvas, and paper, she develops an artistic language based on layering, gesture, and the transformation of surfaces. Her work explores the relationships between time, color, presence, and movement, resulting in compositions of great material and expressive richness. Her work has been exhibited in Europe and the United States, and she has participated in artist residencies such as Acobert, in Moià, and Bonfire, in Iceland, where she also presented her practice at the Reykjanesbær Art Museum.
