About the artist

Manuel Olivas

Manuel Olivas

A painter of contemporary realism, his work combines compositional serenity with a distinct minimalist sensibility. In watercolors and oils, he depicts still lifes and landscapes linked to the Cádiz coast and the Doñana area, isolating the motifs against white backgrounds that define his visual language. The use of water from the mouth of the Guadalquivir in his watercolors is particularly noteworthy. His training alongside masters such as Antonio López García consolidates a practice that unites figurative tradition with a contemporary gaze.
