About the artist

Toni Bennasar

Toni Bennasar

Their work explores the boundaries between the real and the virtual through autonomous architectures and uninhabited spaces that question the centrality of human presence. From a posthumanist perspective, it investigates the transformation of the contemporary image into an independent system of representation. Combining digital research processes and artificial intelligence with traditional pictorial techniques such as acrylics, airbrushing, and oil painting, their work integrates technology and manual gesture in an ongoing dialogue. Their ESSENTIA project also extends into the audiovisual realm, articulating a reflection on authorship, technology, and new ways of constructing the contemporary image.
