About the artist

Asela Botella
In continuous evolution, Asela proposes an aesthetic universe centered on sensations. Harmony is its main form of expression and shapes and volumes, its language. Its GRIETAS series is inspired by the cracks that form in nature and in noble materials; in glaciers, mountains, rivers and seas, bark, stone… “There is a line from a Leonard Cohen song that explains the concept of my work very well: There is a crack in everything, that's how the light gets in” (ANTHEM. The Future). The creative process of each work is entirely artisanal. The tearing of the paper marks the path of the Crack which each time is different, each layer inspires the next layer until achieving a unique work.
