About the artist
Beatriz Uribe
Beatriz Uribe’s painting is, above all, a logbook of inhabited places. Its foundations were laid in the United States, under the discipline of watercolor. It was there that she learned the first great lesson of her craft: the importance of transparency. She discovered that light is not painted, but allowed. Over the years, her dialogue with materials became increasingly complex; she explored diverse techniques, consolidating a figurative language that no longer sought merely to suggest, but to affirm. Today, her work has immersed itself in water. The human figure in its eternal dance with light and the current.
