About the artist

Maite Carranza

Maite Carranza

I have always been drawn to the versatility of metals, especially iron, which I shape in different ways I have learned through experimentation over time. My sculpture is functional and artistic. I frequently use bright colors and sinuous shapes, springs, and large and small folds, thick or thin. I like to transform iron into everyday objects, hang my sculptures, and interpret nature, reflecting beauty in different forms and figures.
