Jimena grew up in an analog world. Something in her preserves the nostalgia for that bygone era. A time when you had to trust your own eyes and what you wanted to say. Her analog photography is a unique, unrepeatable moment that allows no corrections. Her work is born from that tension: between the speed of the contemporary world and the pause demanded by film. She focuses on rituals—cultural, intimate, everyday—on that which goes unnoticed unless you stop to look. She photographs slowly because she believes that seeing is, above all, a conscious act.
